Jilbab is one of the highest-volume search terms in modest wear, and also one of the most confused with abaya by buyers outside the markets where the difference is already well understood. An abaya, generally, is a single open or closed robe. A jilbab, at least the way most of our wholesale buyers order it, is looser and often two pieces — a separate top with a full-length skirt, or a wide-cut robe with a lot more fabric ease through the body than a fitted abaya would have.
We run our jilbab program on Nida and crepe, the same fabric bases as the abaya line, with double-stitched seams reinforced at the underarm and hem, since those are the two spots that take the most stress on a loose-cut garment worn every day. Sizing goes from free-size through a graded 52–56 range. Most of our distributor accounts treat jilbab as a value-tier companion to a more structured abaya range rather than ordering it on its own.

Jilbabs FAQs
What is the difference between a jilbab and an abaya?+
The terms overlap by region, but in our production spec, an abaya is a more fitted, often single-piece robe cut close to the body, while a jilbab is looser through the body and frequently produced as a two-piece set. Buyers sourcing for markets where the terms are used interchangeably should confirm the specific cut with a reference image rather than the name alone.
