Private label manufacturing means a buyer takes an existing base pattern from a manufacturer's catalog and applies their own branding — woven labels, hang tags, packaging, and sometimes a custom color or fabric upgrade — without developing a fully custom pattern from scratch. It sits between reselling an unbranded catalog style and full custom (OEM/ODM) development, offering meaningful differentiation at a moderate MOQ increase and without the longer lead time of ground-up pattern development.
